What Happens When You Get Fingered

night RICHELLE MEAD FILM TELLS OF VAMPIRE ACADEMY

This information can be found on page MORE THAN VAMPIRES which has given me hope that soon we can see Dimka and Roza in the flesh on display I hope to see it larger.

All fans of Vampire Academy are delighted to know that the saga will finally bring to the big screen. Yesterday, Monday, 12 July , journalist Whitney Sullivan of RT Book Reviews met Richelle Mead to discuss all the details of the project and what we expect to see in theaters. We offer the translation of the interview below.

.
We have heard that Preger Entertainment has acquired the rights to your Vampire Academy to film. Can you tell us what you think of the reach an agreement? What was your first reaction when you heard the news?
Agreements like this are a long process of negotiations with me, my agent and the company involved. Actually took place last February, when I was on tour in the United Kingdom, so the experience was a little strange. wine Preger to us, and it was a week with my agent sending me e-mails with questions about the contract. I was so busy in Britain was just time for Internet and catch up with their email, and attached to the time difference, communication between all of us looked like they would last forever! So do not look real at that moment, until I got home and work. I realized that was resolved was very exciting, but this is a case in which things can be time consuming, so I was prepared to be patient.
When you were writing the saga of Vampire Academy, can you imagine anyone in particular in your mind for your character of Rose Hathaway? Who do you imagine it would be good in that role?
I have images in my head of what the characters, but not according to any actor or actress out there. I would prefer a cast of unknowns!
I know that most writers think about their work as a very personal extension of themselves. How does it feel to have your book adapted by someone else?
You have to admit to a certain point when you sell the rights to any adaptation, either to another language, novel graphic or movie, you are allowing someone else to put your creative stamp in your book. The authors think that their books can be translated to film page to page, word for word, they are deceiving themselves. There will be adjustments and modifications. Now, of course I want to do any movie that is good and remains so close to my vision as possible, and I have faith that Preger and whatever the study with the work they will do a good adaptation. Is the art of making movies, and that's not what I do. My specialty is books. Of Preger is film, and I'm glad you let us each do what we do best.
Vampire Saga Academy has a much more active role for women and lead to other books about vampires for television and films today. How do you think will translate it on the big screen?
I do not think that will change. If a film is made, we still continue to see strong women these papers there. This is what distinguishes this series, and if that fails, you could be adapted any other novel. Having a first-person narrator in the book emphasizes in particular the strength of women, but men also are strong. In fact, a film that is more in the third person, you can represent all these powerful people next to each other and show how well that move men and women at the same level.

When books become films, there are often things that have to be cut for space ... What do you think can be omitted and still allow for adaptation of the film so that is as compelling as the novel? What elements do you think are essential and must be included so that your story forward?
I think that keeping the integrity, strength and personality character is the key. Compelling and believable characters are what draw fans and make them follow these characters anywhere. The other key aspect is the main argument and the "big" laws of the universe. Is that about what they are built and books (I think) about what should be also built a good movie. As I said, of course I'd love to see every little detail subplot presented accurately, but if some of them have to be cut or modified, the story will remain strong as long as it has its core intact.
You seem to be working in a spin-off saga * expected to be released in 2011. Can you give some detail on what fans can expect from this new series? * (NdT: Spin-off, a work derived from or inspired other.)
Most are kept under heavy secrecy by my publisher! I can say is that I have revealed some hours to sign books. The saga begins a new story and characters will already know. One of them is Sydney, a human who met in Blood Promise, but the rest are top secret . Moreover, Readers know who lives, dies and end up together in the first series!
