Iraq yesterday, today Afghanistan: No to war!
On 15 February 2003, took to the streets en masse to protest the war in Iraq, which the government Aznar involved us, ignoring the wishes of the majority of the population.
Today, seven years later, we must protest against the English government's decision to support the U.S. occupation of Afghanistan with more troops, against the massacres carried out by the occupying forces, and against the more lies they tell us.
not being rebuilt Afghanistan much of investments by multinational just or corrupt local leaders, imposed by the occupation.
democracy in the country is a farce: the recent elections were universally recognized as fraudulent, but Karzai is as President.
has not been freed Afghan women: Karzai has even passed a law by which men can rape their wives, some of which have less than ten years. So
Afghanistan after more than eight years of occupation. Can not justify the cost in innocent blood that Afghan civilians are paying because of the foreign military presence. And this suffering extends to the families of the occupying troops, who watch as his fall into a war of dark targets.
We give our solidarity to the Afghan people so that they can lift their country without occupation, without the warlords and drug traffickers that this entails.
In 2003, Zapatero said, against Aznar, that "the views of citizens in a democracy, can not be marginalized." Repeated surveys have shown that the vast majority of the population of the English State rejects sending more troops to Afghanistan.
We urge the government to cancel the sending of troops, and to immediately withdraw troops currently involved in the Afghanistan war. The one million euros per day that the English government currently spends on the occupation must go for social purposes.
There are other reasons to get back out into the street with the cry "No to war."
The war in Iraq continues and while Obama talks about withdrawing troops from this country to send more troops to Afghanistan, the reality is that the U.S. wants to maintain military bases in Iraq indefinitely.
And remember the 1400 Palestinians killed by Israeli bombs in early 2009. A year later, the population of Gaza remains imprisoned by the blockade. We urge the English government to abandon its boycott of the elected Palestinian government and to stop selling weapons to Israel.
Others have been forgotten, but we do not.
Yesterday Iraq, Afghanistan today ... Outside the occupation forces! Solidarity with the Palestinian people!
No to war!
The Campaign for the withdrawal of English troops from Afghanistan, statewide, coordinated media this week against the war, around February 15.
also called for demonstrations in the streets on Saturday 20 March, coinciding with demonstrations in Washington and San Francisco.
