Mediterranean Voices "Women and Power. THE DECLARATION OF GRANADA IN ACTION" Mediterranean Voices

En esta cuarta edición Mediterranean Voices, the second to be held in Granada, has convened a group of women, intellectuals and activists, feminists and progressives, to reflect on the theme "Women and Power", especially in the field of construction of the Mediterranean Area as a prosperous area, organized and democratic, fully respectful of human rights, particularly in regard to women.

19 to May 21, 2010, have gathered in Granada two dozen women from several countries of the Mediterranean, as well as the culturally so close to Latin America. Such prestigious names as the de Piedad Córdoba or Amelia Valcárcel, Aicha Ech-Channa, Nayer Tohidi, Celia Amorós, Carmen Pujol, Michal Swartz, Amparo Rubiales, Waffa Tayara, Douakhumba Gassama, Ana Maria Ruiz Tagle, Azza El Kholi, Mary Nash, Manuela Mesa, Nielsen Pérez, Carmen Carrillo, Margarita Benitez, Nidia Bustillos, Fanny Rubio, Flavia Tello, Maria Angels Roque, Merce Rivas. All of them, from places of political, legislative or education, from direct activism and the street, or the solitude of their offices, from different geographies and disciplines from which have already proved a reflection and action around the thorny problems surrounding theme "Women and Power." On this occasion, we have responded to questions crucial to the future, after having spoken at previous calls, the delimitation of the Mediterranean area and the experiences of women in the two watersheds, Building Peace, out of the crisis. And above all, after more than a hundred individuals and associations have signed and endorsed the Declaration of Granada, 2009, arising from Mediterranean Voices III.
